Broxtowe Borough Council Proposed Car Park Charges
Broxtowe Borough Council (BBC) have proposed blanket car park charges on all of their public car parks across the borough, this includes Kimberley.
At the budget meeting your Kimberley town and independent borough councillor Melissa Crow argued against the policy and helped to ensure that BBC consult the public on the issue. Kimberley Town Council are ahead of Broxtowe here as, on the initiative of the chairman (Shane Easom), the town council already have consultation in place in the form of a petition available at the council office on Newdigate St and most of the town centre businesses.
Kimberley Town Council are unanimously opposed to any parking charges in Kimberley and see the policy as an ill thought out threat to local commerce. Our consultation (including your thoughts here) will be presented to BBC for consideration by their budget review group at the end of March.
